We are calling Transition Year students across Ireland to identify a challenge in their local area for a chance to participate in the 'Design Your Future City' TY Week!
A collaboration between CONNECT at Trinity College Dublin and Dublin City Council, the Academy of the Near Future has partnered with Virgin Media to deliver a week-long programme for Transition Year students to explore science, engineering, art and design.
During this week-long programme students will explore the technology behind a ‘smart city’ in creative hands-on workshops , reflect on the challenges facing our towns and cities and create their own idea to try and solve it!
Who can apply?
The Visioneers TY Week is open to all Transition Year students based in the Republic of Ireland. This week is for the curious and the inexperienced. You don’t need to be familiar with coding or tech, just be enthusiastic about creating better future cities, towns and communities! It is not necessary to have attended one of our Visioneers workshops to enter.
How to apply?
To apply for a place on our Visioneers TY Week, you’ll need to complete this application form.
To enter, we want you to describe a challenge in your city, town or community local area, and then imagine a way that technology could try and solve it!
Applications close for students at 10pm on 4th February 2022.
20 students will be selected to attend our Visioneers TY Week. Participants will be informed mid Feb 2022 with the TY Week taking place in March 2022.
